US technology giant Apple launched its iPhone 12 series iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone Pro Max on 13 October.
The new iPhone 12 is equipped with many new features like better low-light photography, special night mode in selfie camera and faster processor. But Apple has made a unique change in its iPhone 12 lineup as the company has removed chargers and earpods from the iPhone 12 box.
According to Apple, this has been done to realize the environmental goals set by the corporate. It should be noted that Apple wants to become 100% carbon neutral by 2030. The Cupertino-based firm said that by removing the charger and earpods from the iPhone 12 box, it would reduce packaging by up to 70% and allow the company to ship more devices at the same time. Apple said this would help reduce shipping-related emissions.
Now, Apple has provided a detailed description of its decision. In an interview with Good Morning America, Apple’s iPhone marketing VP stated that most iPhone users already have chargers and earpods from their previous iPhones and that’s why the company removed these accessories from the iPhone 12 box decided.
