Learn how to locate your iOS device’s serial number, IMEI / MEID, CDN and ICCID.


Before starting


  • You can find these numbers in many places, including settings, on physical devices, in iTunes, and on the original packaging.
  • When you contact Apple for support, you can use a serial number or IMEI / MEID number to identify your iOS device.

Find Your IMEI / MEID, Serial Number, or ICCID

  1. Go to Settings> General> About.
  2. View your device’s serial number. You may need to scroll down to find the IMEI / MEID and ICCID.

On these devices, find the serial number in the settings and the IMEI / MEID on the SIM tray. If you need support, but you cannot see the settings menu, you can use IMEI / MEID instead of serial number:

On these devices, find the serial number and IMEI / MEID (MEID is the first 14 digits of the IMEI) backwards in the settings. If you need support, but you cannot see the settings menu, you can use IMEI / MEID instead of serial number:

If you have an original iPhone, find the engraved serial number and IMEI on the back.



iPad And iPod Touch


Find the serial number for your iPad, iPod or iPad Pro, on the back side of the device. On an iPad (cellular model), you will also get IMEI.

You can also find device’s serial number in iTunes:

  1. Connect your iOS device to your computer.
  2. If iTunes doesn’t launch automatically, open it.
  3. Locate your device. Click on the Summary tab to see its information.
  4. For an iPhone, click on the phone number to find IMEI / MEID and ICCID. For iPad (cellular model), click on the serial number to find CDN, IMEI / MEID and ICCID.

If you want to paste this information into Apple registration or support forms, choose Edit> Copy Serial Number.



If You Don’t Have Your Own Device


There are several places to check that can show your device’s serial or IMEI / MEID number.

  1. Go to your Apple ID account page (appleid.apple.com) in a web browser on your computer.
  2. Sign in with the Apple ID you use on the device that you need serial or IMEI / MEID.
  3. Scroll down to the section called Devices. To view the serial and IMEI / MEID number of a device, select that device.


If you still need help, what to try next:

  • Do you have a separate iOS device with iOS 10.3 or is your Apple ID signed later? On that device, tap Settings> [Your Name]. Scroll down to see any devices signed in to the Apple ID. To see the serial and IMEI / MEID numbers, tap the device name.
