Google Announced : No Pixel 4 And Pixel 4 Xl In India: Here Is What They Say

No Pixel 4 And Pixel 4 XL In India

Google on Tuesday announced that the newly launched Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL smartphones will not be available in India. In a statement, the company said that it has decided not to make the Pixel 4 duo available in the country. Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL on Tuesday were launched at an event in New York, in which the company revealed its features, price and specifications.

Why Google no launching Pixel 4 in India

The radar sensor in Google Pixel 4, dubbed Project Soli, is called during development and now Motion Sense. This allows the smartphone to support wind gestures – so you can wave your hands over your phone to perform certain tasks. It operates on the 60GHz spectrum.

Gadgets 360 understands that Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL are not launching in India due to 60GHz spectrum licensing issues in the country.

“We are committed to our current Pixel phones and look forward to bringing future Pixel devices to India,” said a Google spokesperson.

Google on Tuesday introduced Google Pixel 4, Pixel 4 XL, Pixelbook Go, Pixel Earbuds, and Nest Mini during its annual hardware event in New York. The Google Pixel 4 comes with a starting price of $ 799 (about Rs. 57,000) and the Pixel 4 XL is for $ 899 (about Rs. 64,000). The phone will be shipped on 24 October in many countries, except India.

Billed as “the best Android phone you can buy”, Google Pixel devices have failed to impress Indian users and the reason is very clear: strategy for poor marketing.

According to Tarun Pathak of Mobile Devices and Ecosystem, Associate Director of Counterpoint Research, India still remains a lucrative market that Google needs to keep a close eye on.

“The premium segment is growing at a much faster rate than the overall market and this is, in fact, a right time operation in India. Maybe Google India will look at other SKUs to go ahead like the market to scale. Is Pixel 3A, ”Pathak told IANS.

For pixel lovers in the country, the announcement brings sad news just before Diwali.

According to Counterpoint, the Internet giant’s channel strategy halted the development of the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL.

“While one can always argue about the Pixel 3 price upgrade compared to the Pixel 2 series ($ 150 and more) the Vis-in-Vis fantasy upgrade, it was the channel strategy that stifled Pixel 3’s growth, “Karn Chauhan, research analyst at Counterpoint said.

The tech giant has admitted that it sold fewer Pixel phones due to industry-wide pressure on high-end smartphones.

According to Prabhu Ram, Head-Industry Intelligence Group (IIG), Cybermedia Research (CMR), the smartphone’s camera experience is something that puts consumers high, and takes enough care to upgrade to a new smartphone.

“This is where Google Pixel has an advantage over its best-in-class camera capabilities. Where Pixel has won is to get its pricing and go-to-marketing strategy right,” Ram said.
