Mi A3 Android 11 re-release fixes “Brick Issue”

Some of the Mi A3 users, who updated their device to Android 11 a few days ago, may have faced a bit of concern. The update, which was abrupt but half-baked, left many devices dead, essentially a hard brick. Today, Xiaomi has re-released the update and it is free from that issue.

Mi A3 Android 11 release

First of all, we apologize to our readers for the delayed update of this news. Although people started reporting online about this second Android 11 update, we had to personally verify that it clears further heartbeats.

Having said that, our unit received an update with build number 12.0.3.0.RFQMIXM and weighs around 1.40GB. The changelog is similar to the first update and shows specific features of Android 11 OS. Additionally, the update also brings the December 2020 security patch.

Upon updating, the device successfully jumps to the new Android. So far, there are no major bugs in the update. Below are some screenshots that assure you that it is safe from major issues and you can give it safely this time.

Also, it is worth noting that this update is for those who luckily do not pull the first trigger. This means, if you have already updated your device, it should be dead by now. In that case, you can visit one of the 2000+ Mi service centers across the country. Xiaomi has also promised that it will repair the devices for free.

Xiaomi has sidestepped the Mi A3 so far when it comes to updating preferences. Some time ago, the company accidentally rolled out Mexican firmware to global variants that disabled SIM-functionality. Even before that, users literally had to sign a petition to raise awareness about the delay of the old Android-10 update.

With two major Android updates already available, we really hope that the company doesn’t repeat its mistake while providing future security updates.
